Puppies galore!
Just got home from a visit to Harry at Kennel Arylan. I went to visit Harry, the puppies and the mommas to be and to take Bonnie for a visit and to pick up PJ.
PJ was very happy to see his momma and when we got ready to come home he kissed is girls goodbye and leaped in the van. I was glad he wanted to come home and hadn’t gotten spoiled being the BMOC at Arylan and helping Harry with all the man projects he has going on there.
The Oscar Kiefer x Chickie litter is lovely, a very happy and consistent litter. I was their 1st visitor and they were thrilled to meet me.
Harry’s 4 month old puppy Otto is something else, what a great puppy! He and Bonnie had a blast playing, they were both tired at the end of the visit.
Both June Carter and Addy are showing Momma signs, June looks like she ate a watermelon and Addy has some measurable gain. June is due around December 21st and Addy a week or so later. Check them out at www.arylan.com. We are excited!
Happy Thanksgiving – a Frost Report
Hey it’s me Frost!
I had my 1st Thanksgiving (it was my second but I don’t remember the other one since I was just a bitty baby) and it was fun!
Our Uncle Randy came to visit from Austin, TX. I like Uncle Randy! He let me sleep his lap for a long time. Mom took Bailey and I over to Grandma’s house and we helped cook the big dinner. We layed in front of the stove and in the middle of the kitchen floor, Grandma kept saying we were “lots of help”. We help be keeping everyone honest by making sure they watched where they were walking (or rolling) so Sienna didn’t get stepped on. We also helped by getting the dishes ready to go into the dishwasher and checking the dishwasher to make sure it was full enough.
Later on Momma Lindy came over to supervise. Right before the people ate the big dinner Auntie Cody came and brought Charlie and Bonnie and we ran wild! The people ate the big dinner and then we helped with the dishes, that was the best, we liked the turkey roaster because we could all get our heads in it. Mama said it was the doggie version of the kids table. Of course I don’t know why we didn’t get to eat the big dinner, there were more dogs than people.
Today Mama says we have to stay home while they take Uncle Randy out to eat Mexican food. Boy they eat a lot! I like to eat, I want to go too!
Uncle Randy goes home tomorrow and I’m going to go Auntie Cody’s to have a sleep over with Charlie. Bonnie is going with Mama to ABQ to visit her Daddy Harry for a couple of days. Auntie Cody says Charlie needs a playmate so I’m going to keep him company. Only I get to go because Bailey has to stay home and babysit Sienna when Grandma leaves, she has to work and I get to play!!!! Then when Mama comes home she is bring Daddy Dog PJ home, I’m happy I love my Daddy Dog.
Anyway we had a fun Thanksgiving, we Cardis are always ready to help with the cooking and the cleaning.
Hope everyone else had as much fun as we did.
Stay cool!

It’s not easy being green
Well around here it is a little bit. My mom and I started a compost pile. But very little of my stuff ever gets there.
That’s right I have the compost cardigans. They love hanging around in hopes of scamming egg shells, carrot tops, squash ends, apple peels, whatever I’m cooking. Ok well they don’t get the onion stuff but everything else. Today some one ate a mushroom that hit the floor. I’m always surprised what they like. Stoney like bananas. Funny guys!
Well bummer
I was holding out writing this post in hope that the Miss Lindy Hop would miraculously cooperate but since she should be whelping puppies two weeks from today and she is showing NO signs of pregnancy I’m going to say it is a no go, still a very very small chance that she is carrying a single but I don’t think so. I’m disappointed because this was a one shot deal with the stud dog Oscar aka Kieffer, a young dog with a lovely pedigree and conformation but a fluffy coat. He is a well-loved pet and was only available for a short time. But dog breeding is filled with disappointments.
On the plus side, Arylan has a lively litter of 9, 3 week old of puppies sired by Oscar out of the lovely Chickie so we are hopeful there is something special in that litter. And of course we are very excited about the potential PJ litters that we are waiting confirmation on. PJ x June Carter should be due around Christmas and PJ x Addy around the New Year. Happy Holidays for us!!!
So if you were thinking about an Oscar x Lindy puppy I invite you to contact Harry at www.arylan.com for info on these up coming litters. Chickie’s litter is Black and White and June’s litter could be any varity of Brindle, Red or Sable, Addy’s litter will be Brindle of either black, red or brown.
Happy Birthday to me – A Frost Report
Hey it’s me Frost!
And today is my birthday! I’m a year old today! I want to wish my brothers and sisters happy birthday too!
Momma says we are going to have a birthday party but not until tomorrow, Charlie and Bonnie will come over with Auntie Cody and we will have a play. As long as we get cake I don’t care what day it is.
We haven’t been doing much around here, Daddy dog PJ is still on holiday at Arylan and we miss him, but now we play more with the old man, grouchy uncle Stoney. He likes me (and who doesn’t) so he will play with me. Some days Bailey and I go to work and baby sit the Flea, she doesn’t like to by herself so when Grandma goes away we go next door and stay with her.
I’ll let you know how my party goes!
Happy Birthday to me!
Stay cool,

Disappointments for me but Joy for someone else
Dog breeding is filled with disappointments, sometimes small disappointments like not winning the major when you thought you should or missing entries at a show. Sometimes they are bigger like when a pretty puppy with a lovely pedigree doesn’t turn out like you hope. Leslie, Kathy and are are like that with Candy. Our pretty red girl just didn’t reach her potential and Leslie after lots of thought has chosen to retire her from the show ring and our breeding plans. She has had Candy spay and will now make plans for her to go to a forever home where she will be someone’s delightful pet. Candy not only finished her UKC Championship with group placements but she has her CGC and is TDI certified for therapy dog visits. And if smart isn’t enough she has strong health clearances too with OFA excellent hips and she is DM clear. For more Candy info you can visit her page at http://www.keelmtn.com/candy.html . Candy lives in Huntsville, AL
Of course when you decide to place a dog it is always a hard decision, you wonder am I making the right choice and will my dog be happy somewhere else? But then you get emails like this one that makes you know that you did the right thing for your dog. So I know even though Leslie, Kathy and I are disappointed we also know Candy will delight someone as their best friend. Interested parties can contact Leslie at KeelMtn for more information.
Henry’s (now known as Teddy) new family sent this email:
Teddy is LOVING the snow! We got about 15 inches of snow, which at first, he wasn’t quite sure about…there were some huge flakes that were falling on him! He and Phoebe would take turns making paths in the backyard. Then, when I was out front shoveling the driveway (groan!), they were with me, going up and down the block, greeting other neighbors who were shoveling their drives, too. They had a great day!
