Tick Tock Tick Tock

We are now watching the clock waiting for word from Arylan about June Carter.  Puppies are expected on Monday the 21st (a good day, the Winter Solstice) but they could come anytime.  PJ has cigars to pass out :-) .

Keep good thoughts.

Alabama Day 1

Our 1st day is coming to a close.  We slept late for dog people and went to the happening Hardees for breakfast.  I knew I was back in the south when a fried bologna biscuit sandwich was on the breakfast menu.

After breakfast, we went and watched the Gurely Christmas parade, Bob rode the Keel Mtn Fire Department engine and toss candy to the kiddos.

That's Bob tossing candy

nothing runs like a Deere

Leslie, Phoebe and Ava

After the parade we came home and Miss Cheery O was still just panting and scratching, poor baby!

Poor Cheery

Leslie and I decided to miss Bob playing Santa at the Fire Dept holiday Pot Luck and stay home to watch Cheery do nothing.  He did bring us home some yummy offerings from the Pot Luck, what a good guy!

So it is nearing midnight Central time and we are camping in the whelping area, my guess is a 3am party but we shall see what mother nature brings.  Right now it is still 9 pems a pending.

Send good wishes!

Puppies galore!

You run and I'll chase or I'll run and you chase!

Just got home from a visit to Harry at Kennel Arylan.  I went to visit Harry, the puppies and the mommas to be and to take Bonnie for a visit and to pick up PJ.

PJ was very happy to see his momma and when we got ready to come home he kissed is girls goodbye and leaped in the van.   I was glad he wanted to come home and hadn’t gotten spoiled being the BMOC at Arylan and helping Harry with all the man projects he has going on there.

The Oscar Kiefer x Chickie litter is lovely, a very happy and consistent litter.  I was their 1st visitor and they were thrilled to meet me.

Pile O Puppies

How cute is this?

Sleeping babies

Harry’s 4 month old puppy Otto is something else, what a great puppy!  He and Bonnie had a blast playing, they were both tired at the end of the visit.

Otto and Bea

Both June Carter and Addy are showing Momma signs, June looks like she ate a watermelon and Addy has some measurable gain.  June is due around December 21st and Addy a week or so later.  Check them out at www.arylan.com.  We are excited!

Well bummer

I was holding out writing this post in hope that the Miss Lindy Hop would miraculously cooperate but since she should be whelping puppies two weeks from today and she is showing NO signs of pregnancy I’m going to say it is a no go, still a very very small chance that she is carrying a single but I don’t think so.  I’m disappointed because this was a one shot deal with the stud dog Oscar aka Kieffer, a young dog with a lovely pedigree and conformation but a fluffy coat.  He is a well-loved pet and was only available for a short time.    But dog breeding is filled with disappointments.

On the plus side, Arylan has a lively litter of 9, 3 week old  of puppies sired by Oscar out of the lovely Chickie so we are hopeful there is something special in that litter.  And of course we are very excited about the potential PJ litters that we are waiting confirmation on.  PJ x June Carter should be due around Christmas and PJ x Addy around the New Year.  Happy Holidays for us!!!

So if you were thinking about an Oscar x Lindy puppy I invite you to contact Harry at www.arylan.com for info on these up coming litters.  Chickie’s litter is Black and White and June’s litter could be any varity of Brindle, Red or Sable, Addy’s litter will be Brindle of either black, red or brown.
